Mysteryland NO FOMO

Take the notorious, underground night life of New York City and combine it with free-spirited vibes and summer essence of outdoor festivals. What does that equate to? The fast-growing, Mysteryland USA Festival. Although it only made its (amazing) US debut back in May 2014, its been a leading pioneer on the dance festival scene in Europe since 1993 and is today’s longest-running electronic festival in the world. Previous headliners for Mysteryland USA included electronic veterans Kaskade, Steve Aoki, and even Moby.

This year it returns to the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival grounds in Bethel Woods, New York, for its third round of partying, commencing on June 10-13, 2016. The festival giant recently released the Mysteryland USA Phase 1 2016 lineup and it already has us wishing for the summer to be here (on top of Blizzard Jonas and NYC’s frigid weather). To no surprise, it’s snagged some of the biggest electronic artists today. If you love some heavy bass and wild energy, you’re in for a damn good treat.

Friday boasts Seattle-based duo and communal favorite, Odesza. These two have really blown up the scene over the past couple of years, breaking out with the incredible Summer’s Gone album back in 2012. Be ready to hear their incredible tracks “Say My Name” and “Sun Models” mixed in with trap-house and dubby sounds, similar to their continued collection of NO.SLEEP Mixes. Haven’t heard them? Check some out here:

Saturday showcases Los Angeles based dubstep giant Skrillex. Skrillex recently reignited his status in the electronic world with fellow dub-lover Diplo, working on a little project called Jack Ü. You know… that one song you couldn’t turn the radio on without hearing, think it featured a guy named Justin Bieber? Needless to say, we are stoked to see what Skrillex plays on the Woodstock grounds, as his taste has been ever-changing. I anticipate a taste of dubstep, as many of his latest releases on Soundcloud are sounding like Skrillex circa 2010, listen here:

Last, but certainly not least, Sunday features the ultimate king of bass, Bassnectar. The legend has been touring for over a decade, so let’s just say he knows what he’s doing. The NO FOMO team is lucky enough to have seen him in New York and a variety of US festivals, so we’re certain that his rep for incredible light shows, custom loud sound, and well-curated mixes that feed off the crowd’s energy are not a fabrication. Lorin knows exactly how to rev up the energy and make your night unforgettable. Need to refresh your Bassnectar love? Check out a recent mixtape.

On top of unmissable headliners, some other incredible artists were announced as part of Phase 1. Here’s some of the most anticipated:

For you rap and hip hop fans, Young Thug will be performing. He had an incredible 2015, releasing his highly rated album, Barter 6 and was featured on summer smash “I Know There’s Gonna Be Good Times” with Jamie XX. Anonymous German DJ Claptone will also be in attendance this year. Although he’s been around for awhile, he’s recently exploded in popularity with his catchy-as-hell remix of “Liquid Spirit” by Gregory Porter. Paris-based DJ Tchami is sure to bring some fun that weekend with his bass-heavy house tracks, praying to hear “Promesses” or the remix of “You Know You Like it” by AlunaGeroge”. And of course, there’s Robot Heart favorite and All Day I Dream founder Lee Burridge, who we recently started off 2016. He’ll definitely bring in some dreamy techno and make you reincarnate some hippie vibes.

And of course, with any festival, expect more than just music. Mysteryland promises an unforgettable culture and arts portion to the festival, featuring a healing garden, comedy club, and they’re bringing back the swing (as seen in the official After Movie – It’s SICK)! We’re looking forward to our third year dancing on the fields with gorgeous, fun folks and seeing all the festival attire, inspired by the original hippies themselves.
